Finance

Finance Officer

THE COMPANY:

AllianceJet, a business jet management company holding an EASA Air Operators Certificate, based in Portomaso Malta has an immediate vacancy for a Finance Officer to join a growing team. Alliancejet forms part of the Alliance Aviation Group which has other holdings in Ireland, Switzerland and the UAE.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and other applicable accounting documents or records and ensure appropriate level of authorisation and accurate general ledger / cost centre coding.
  • Verify suppliers’ and service providers’ accounts by reconciling statements and related transactions.
  • Posting of purchases invoices/ credit notes.
  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers and service providers.
  • Issuing of inter-company sales invoices.
  • Handle payments in an organised and timely manner within permitted credit criteria.
  • Posting of petty cash and bank transactions.
  • Allocation of payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and provide the month end reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • “A” Level in Accounts or
  • Initial stages of ACCA accreditation

Minimum Experience:

  • 2+ years of current experience in a finance department handling multiple currency and medium complexity transactions preferably with some experience in an aviation related business.
  • Previous experience using accounting software packages; Sage, Quick
  • Books / MS Dynamics (or equivalent).
  • Methodical and accurate approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Fluent verbal and written English.
  • Proficient in use of Office 365 specifically, Outlook, Excel and Word.

Alliance Flight Support

Flight Operations Officer

OPERATIONS

Alliance Flight Support (AFS) is a sister company of AllianceJet (ALE) within the Alliance Aviation Group, providing full trip support and flight planning for ALE and other operators. Specialising in short notice flights in Middle East and Europe, AFS also coordinates flights on a worldwide basis.

AFS now seeks to recruit a Flight Operations Officer in response to a steady growth in operations activity. While forming part of the international AFS team and reporting to the AFS General Manager, the incumbent will be based in the ALE offices at Portomaso, Malta, and will coordinate closely with the ALE team for AOC fleet operations. Working hours will be on a roster basis including night shifts.

We are looking for a quick thinking, goal-oriented individual, who is able to prioritise tasks with a due regard for safe operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Flight Operations Officer will be required to:

  • Undertake flight feasibility checks including security risk assessment.
    Verify crew currency and route/area/aerodrome qualification requirements against OM Part C in particular.
  • Coordinate with pilot on allotted route with flight schedule, climate condition and geographical factors.
  • Evaluate all fuel loads and payload for each flight.
  • Ensure that the necessary handling requests and airport slots are coordinated and confirmed to carry out the flight program.
  • Contract and monitor performance of external providers including but not limited to:- handling agents, FBOs, Fuel suppliers, Customs and Border Control.
  • Ensure the completion and filing of ATC flight plans and that all necessary diplomatic and over-flight clearances are obtained to carry out the flying program.
  • Maintain the data required to for management of the flight schedule.
  • Compile a correct and complete Crew Briefing including an operational flight plan.
  • Communicate with the CAMO manager on the operational status of the aircraft including AOC and MEL dispatch issues.
  • Monitor all the flights from start to finish, and review and update the operations control software to reflect the actual flight operations status.
  • Check post flight data send by the crew and react / adapt as needed.
  • Participate in the functioning of the Emergency Response Plan within the Operations Control Centre.
  • Maintain ground operations record and reporting systems including billing and payables checking.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ICAO member State Flight Dispatcher license or
  • Recognised Flight Operations Officer Diploma

Minimum Experience:

  • 4+ years of current experience in a flight dispatch / aircraft operations control / crew control in a Business Aviation environment.
  • Flight planning experience in Eurocontrol and Middle East regions.
  • NAT-HLA operations.
  • Worldwide/Long Range International Trip Planning.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written English Level 6 Minimum.
  • Proficient in use of Office 365.
  • Proficient in use of aviation scheduling software (Skylegs, Leon, or other).
  • Proficient in use of PPS flight planning.
  • Proficient in use of GURU2.
  • Knowledge of Management Systems.
  • Preference will be given to candidates fluent in other languages.
