AllianceJet announces expansion to Europe since obtaining International Maltese Air Operator’s Certificate
Irish aviation company enters aircraft management space
Capitalising on post Brexit skies
Reaping the benefit of recent political changes in Europe – we have expanded operations across the continent, opening our latest base in Malta, which permits aircraft owners to import aircraft at 0% VAT and provide freedom of movement to and from EASA countries.
As one of Europe’s leading jet charter solutions companies and licensed ground handling agents, we have taken the opportunities afforded by Brexit to offer more competitive terms to the region’s aircraft owners. The move has been welcomed across the aviation sector, allowing aircraft owners to circumvent the VAT now payable in the European Union and in hubs such as the Isle of Man.
With an aviation history dating back to the 1920s, Malta is regarded as an ‘onshore’ jurisdiction with ‘offshore’ benefits and the best EASA register in the region. Given Malta’s location in the middle of the Mediterranean and southernmost tip of Europe, it is ideally placed for our expanding company, which has established operations globally including Geneva Switzerland, Ireland, UAE, KSA and the US.
However the timing is critical, if aircraft owners want to fly within Europe, they cannot without an EASA register. We view this as golden opportunity to capitalise on the changing economic and political situation in the region. Private aircraft owners are permitted to register their aircraft using an AOC operation and have a 0% VAT liability while still operating in Europe.
As Malta’s corporate tax system accommodates non-resident aircraft owners and brokers, we see this not only as an opportunity for us, but for the industry as a whole, which needs as much support as possible in the wake of the pandemic,
We have the expertise and finance and feel confident that we can support both the aircraft operators and jet charter brokers as we move beyond this defining period.
